SCREEN PRINTS INSPIRED BY WORKS OF HENRI MATISSE
Inspired by the paper collage works of Henri Matisse, specifically Blue Nudes, this design was created to be printed on fabric. This project consists of unique prints that employ variations in the technique, use of pigments, applique, stencils. All the prints were created using hand-held screens.
Medium: Latex based pigment on Muslin fabric

1. Making paper cut out composition inspired by ‘The Parakeet and the Mermaid’.
2. B&W scanned print on gateway sheets in the desired composition

4. Making latex based pigment and adding desired colours.
5. Using a squeegee (spreading tool) to form prints over the fabric from the screen.
